Tevar follows Pintu (Arjun Kapoor), a local kabaddi player from Mathura who lives by his own moral code. When he witnesses the ruthless gangster Gajendar Singh (Manoj Bajpayee) attempting to forcibly marry a young woman, Radhika (Sonakshi Sinha), Pintu intervenes. He rescues her and goes on the run, leading to a cat-and-mouse chase across Uttar Pradesh.
