The story begins with Jack (played by Nicholas Hoult), a young farm boy who trades his only cow for magic beans. His mother (played by Ilene Woods) is not pleased with the trade. Overnight, a giant beanstalk grows outside Jack's window. He climbs it and finds himself in a kingdom of giants. There, he meets Gregory (played by Ewan McGregor), a milkman who is actually a prince under a curse. Jack and Gregory team up to defeat the evil giant, Jack Horner (played by Ian McShane).
