Set in a dystopian near-future where Earth is plagued by blight and dust storms, Interstellar follows Cooper (Matthew McConaughey), a former NASA pilot turned farmer. When a mysterious gravitational anomaly leads him to a secret NASA facility led by Professor Brand (Michael Caine), he is thrust into a desperate mission: travel through a wormhole near Saturn to find a habitable planet for humanity’s survival.
A team of astronauts, led by Cooper (Matthew McConaughey), travels through a wormhole near Saturn in search of a new home for humanity. Key Themes:
Nolan shot Interstellar with a mix of 35mm and 15-perf 70mm IMAX. On the BluRay release, the IMAX sequences (the launch, the wormhole, Miller’s planet, the tesseract) expand to fill the entire 16:9 screen. A 1080p encode preserves this shifting aspect ratio. In lower-quality rips, these scenes are often cropped or compressed, destroying the intended vertigo-inducing scale.
: The film is rated PG-13 for some intense perilous sequences and brief strong language; it contains no sexual content or nudity.
While set in Colorado, much of the film was shot in Alberta, Canada and Iceland. A feature could allow users to toggle between "Earth" scenes and their real-world counterparts on Giggster .
