The ffx_fsr2_api_vk_x64.dll is an designed for 64-bit Windows applications utilizing the Vulkan graphics API. It acts as the bridge between your game engine and the FSR 2 upscaling algorithms.

At its core, this file allows games to use AMD's temporal upscaling—a process where a lower-resolution image is intelligently upscaled to a higher resolution using previous frame data and motion vectors.

Before FSR 2, temporal upscalers struggled with fast motion and particle effects. They also required specific hardware (e.g., tensor cores for DLSS). Developers using Vulkan had fewer upscaling options. The introduction of the FSR 2 Vulkan API changed that.
