Kites was shot digitally on the Red One camera (2K - 4.5K max) and finished on a 2K Digital Intermediate (DI). A "true" 4K disc would just be an upscale. So, watching a high-quality 1080p Blu-ray with a good TV upscaler is effectively the same as watching an official 4K release.
