The story follows Sebastian (played by Mario Casas), a grieving father trying to protect his young daughter, Anna, in the post-apocalyptic ruins of Barcelona. Unlike Malorie, who is purely a survivor, Sebastian harbors a dark secret: he is one of the "Seers." These are people who have looked upon the creatures and survived, but at a terrible cost. They now worship the entities and feel compelled to force others to look at them.
